Artist's Description
Sisyphus - a figure in Greek mythology - was condemned by Zeus to forever roll a boulder up a mountain only to have it roll back down and make him carry it back up again for all eternity. This photo pays homage to the boulder that endured this punishment along with Sisyphus.
This image is from my series Misbegotten Places, where I photograph small sets built from photographs. With proper lighting and camera angles these sets become lifelike, yet always somewhat misbegotten. Editions are limited to 9 prints.
